GCash wins big at the prestigious HR Excellence Awards 2023
The top finance super app bags four awards including Employer of the Year
GCash was once again recognized for its outstanding practices in human resource management as it brought home four awards at the recently concluded 2nd Annual HR Excellence Awards in the Philippines.
This prestigious event, organized by Singapore-based Human Resources Online, honors institutions across Asia such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, with commendable programs in employee management. Entries are reviewed and judged by a panel of experts and thought leaders in the field of human resources.
The fintech company won a silver award for Excellence in Leadership Development where GCash was recognized for its program Uplifting Leadership, a people-development initiative built on empathetic leadership and psychological safety.
Another silver accolade was given for Excellence in Total Rewards Strategy, acknowledging the wide range of reward programs and initiatives GCash has for its employees as it fosters a reward philosophy that is centered around individual contributions to the organization. These include corporate and long-term incentive plans, enhancement in employee benefits such as transportation, wellness, and calamity allowances, and flexible benefits.
GCash also received two bronze awards for Excellence in Talent Acquisition with its streamlined hiring process, strengthened application tracking system, and organizational structure, and the most coveted Employer of the Year.
In addition, it was also a finalist in three other categories: Excellence in Employee Engagement, Best HR Team, and HR Leader of the Year with GCash chief people officer Robert Conrad Gonzales as the nominee.
"We are elated to receive another set of awards for our people-centered initiatives for the G Nation barkada. These nominations and wins are a testament to our company's drive to be the best employer that we can be, showcasing our relentless pursuit of excellence, unwavering passion for creating an exceptional and the best workplace, and of course, our ability to positively impact the lives of the people behind the brand – our greatest asset," said Gonzales.
The recent wins cement GCash's status as a frontrunner in the fintech industry more than just in innovations but also in human resources. Among the organization's achievements in the past months include being hailed as top 2 in LinkedIn’s best workplace to grow a career in the Philippines, one of the best employers by the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023 and receiving the Great Place to Work Certification.
